About the Role

Gameto is working to redefine women’s and family health and we’re looking for a bold, mission-driven Director of Marketing and Communications to help us tell that story. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone who lives at the intersection of storytelling, strategy, and execution. You’ll collaborate directly with our CEO and leadership team, lead external agencies, and drive a mix of PR, digital marketing, and creative communications, all in service of building a healthier future for women and families.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in media relations and public storytelling, complemented by strong generalist marketing capabilities. They should be ready to represent a cutting-edge biotech startup to the world and lead the way in positioning Gameto as a category-defining company. This is a rare opportunity to merge biotech with an emerging consumer brand, as well as marketing to clinics, pharma partnerships, and the broader business community.

This is a fast-paced role with significant scope for impact, and we welcome candidates with backgrounds in public relations, communications, consumer or healthcare marketing and journalism.

Responsibilities

  • Public Relations & Media Strategy: Cultivate and manage relationships with reporters, editors, and producers across key outlets in health, biotech, consumer, and business press across various media types.
  • Press Outreach & Storytelling: Proactively pitch stories, secure coverage, and shape narratives that elevate Gameto’s scientific publications, products, milestones, leadership, and mission.
  • Audience-First Digital Marketing: Drive compelling digital campaigns across podcasts, social media, and emerging platforms. Craft content that meets audiences where they are and builds brand affinity in culturally relevant spaces.
  • Precision Growth & Paid Media: Lead smart, targeted advertising for the Phase 3 trial using platforms like Meta, YouTube, Spotify, and Google. Leverage segmentation, testing, and analytics to maximize reach and impact.
  • Event & Appearance Coordination: Lead planning and logistics for public speaking opportunities, media appearances, conferences, and other external engagements.
  • Content & Messaging Development: Create clear, compelling content and talking points for media, press releases, thought leadership, and other communications aligned with brand positioning.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with clinical, commercial, and executive teams to align external messaging with strategic goals and clinical milestones.
  • Marketing Support: Contribute to broader marketing initiatives including digital campaigns, patient outreach, clinic communications, and social media efforts.
  • Agency and Partner Management: Help oversee external PR firms, freelancers, and creative partners to ensure consistent quality and timely execution of campaigns.
  • Brand Positioning: Help build a trusted, credible, and resonant brand in women’s health by developing consistent messaging frameworks and a differentiated voice.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in PR, communications, and/or integrated marketing
  • Digitally fluent, able to launch, manage, and optimize paid campaigns with deep knowledge of ad platforms and audience tools
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading media relationships, influencer partnerships, and securing coverage in high-impact outlets including new media and digital platforms
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with an ability to distill complex ideas into accessible language
  • Experience with event planning and coordination, speaker prep, and media training
  • Experience managing external PR or marketing agencies preferred
  • Interest in healthcare, biotech, wellness, fertility, or women’s health strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with broader marketing strategies and digital platforms (Meta Ads, Google Ads, Hubspot, Klaviyo, etc.) a plus
  • Able to commute to the office at least 2x a week

The Ideal Candidate Is

  • A persuasive communicator and savvy relationship builder
  • Nimble and energized by a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Excited to elevate a groundbreaking fertility product to global audiences
  • Self-starter who is detail-oriented, organized, and proactive
  • Ready to work across geographies, time zones, and teams
