Study published in Human Reproduction demonstrates that Fertilo significantly improves maturation and healthy embryo formation relative to commercially available IVM.

Study conducted in partnership with Spring Fertility, Extend Fertility, and Eugin Group assessed the maturation rate and embryo formation of oocytes collected from 67 participants who underwent up to three days of gonadotropin stimulation prior to egg retrieval.

Findings

  • Fertilo significantly improved the maturation rate for oocytes by 1.5X relative to commercially available IVM media
  • Fertilo-matured oocytes demonstrated an improvement of over 2.5X in healthy, euploid embryo formation
  • Embryos formed following Fertilo maturation demonstrate epigenetic and genetic profiles similar to embryos formed from oocytes matured in vitro during conventional IVF

Clinical Significance

These findings demonstrate that Fertilo could represent a novel approach to IVM with broad applicability to modern fertility services

  • Reduction in hormonal stimulation from ~2 weeks of gonadotropin stimulation to up to 3 days
  • Fertilo represents a highly flexible IVM approach that can complement a broad range of stimulation styles and patient populations
  • Fertilo presents a viable path for obtaining developmentally competent, mature oocytes, particularly for patients who cannot or prefer not to undergo conventional gonadotropin stimulation
